Am gestrigen Abend wurden in Los Angeles die jährlichen Game Awards verliehen. Als großer Gewinner darf sich wieder einmal Blizzard fühlen. Das Studio räumte mit dem Multiplayer-Shooter Overwatch gleich vier Trophäen ab und gewann dabei auch den prestigeträchtigen Titel Spiel des Jahres.

Ebenfalls ganz gut lief es für Bethesda und id Software. Deren Shooter Doom konnte sich immerhin zwei Preise sichern. Gleiches gilt für Naughty Dog, deren Uncharted 4 für die Geschichte und die schauspielerische Leistung von Nolan North ausgezeichnet wurde. Zudem gab es auch bei Niantic Grund zur Freude. Mit Pokémon Go schuf der Entwickler einen der Überraschungshits des Jahres 2016. Bei den Game Awards wurde diese Leistung mit gleich zwei Preisen honoriert.
